We all know that grocery stores get tomatoes that are selected to be shippable and have a long shelf life. In the early summer, when locally grown tomatoes, selected for their flavor become available, it’s time to celebrate. Here’s a half dozen ways I celebrate fresh, uncooked tomatoes. CSA 2021, Week 11
According to the calendar, summer begins in a couple of weeks. But I say it just started as we received our first heirloom tomatoes of the year! We also got some summer squash, purple carrots, red beets and a nice head of lettuce.

Here we are with week 10 of the Elysian Fields Farm CSA. Look at the gorgeous cauliflower in the center of the photo! Also, beets with greens, carrots with tops and (summer’s around the corner) zucchini!

Time is flying. It’s already week 7 of the 2021 Elysian Fields Farm CSA. This week we get broccoli, beets, lacinato kale, arugula and a head of red summer crisp lettuce.
